Precise bearings
The precise bearings of solstices (black lines on the diagram), cross quarter days (blue lines on the diagram) and lunar standstill alignments (green lines on the diagram) change depending on latitude, and are more extreme the further you get from the equator. They can be derived by constructing an orthographic projection diagram like the one above. To find out how to do this, visit www.geomancy.org
.Alternatively, full members of The Antiquarian Society receive a Solstice Finder which includes an orthographic projection diagram showing all the solar and lunar alignments for their chosen location.
Once you have precise alignments to look for it’s time to go into the field.
