Labyrinth building

The Antiquarian Society can build a labyrinth and mark out sites for new stone circles aligning them astronomically. We can build a labyrinth in your garden, school, work place, or festival and align them to the cycles of the heavens.
Labyrinths are from antiquity and some of their first references date back to ancient Crete.
A labyrinth is different to a maze in that there is only one way in and one way out. A labyrinth is not meant to confuse or bewilder you like a maze, it is designed to balance and harmonise the spirit. They can be found in cultures all around the world including Hopi Indians, the Celts, Christian Chartres cathedral and north central Asia Shamanism.
We can find labyrinths inscribed in rock at Rocky Valley, Tintagel, Cornwall.
Labyrinths have long since been associated with the balancing of the two sides of the brain.
When walking a labyrinth one participates in an active mediation that allows us to focus on ourselves with greater ease and helps us connect with the earth.
Thoughts come swirling to the surface of the mind as the body recreates this ancient practice.
When constructing a labyrinth we align it to the cardinal points and then make references within the structure to mark the solstices and equinoxes. We also include the lunar cycles.
We use local and recycled materials in the process of building labyrinths or stone circles and keep the whole process as environmentally friendly.
We can come and turn your garden into a scared space or give advice about certain astronomical considerations for building your own labyrinths and stone structures.
